So Christmas is in or rather in a few days, but this actually
happened about a week or so ago. Actually, more like 3 years
ago but that's besides the point.
I'm 14 and I go to that public school in my neighborhood; you
know...the high school everyone goes to: The druggies, the
alcoholics, and the drop outs. I'm not any of those, but I do
fit in much more here than I did at the catholic schools.
Anyway, so you'd think that with that as my environment, I
wouldn't know anything nice right? Well, here we go.
This story isn't really about me; it's actually not about me at
all. It's more or less about my younger sister, Theresa.
She's 10, and well, most of the time a real brat. She's
overly bossy, mean, and hurtful, but I just try to find the good
in her ya know.
I'm a "punk" as everyone says and I just try to ignore it. It's
rare to see my sister do something nice unless she's trying to
impress someone. But this year, it was weird.
See well, like I said, three years ago it started. My sister
makes friends with EVERYONE; she's very social. She made friends
with Cathy, an elderly lady down the street from us. She spent
hours there helping her in the garden and everything.
All of the elderly lady's family is deceased and well her friends
are very few. So, she was telling my sister how Santa doesn't
come to her very often. Teresa, (my sister) decided to be her
Secret Santa for the next 12 days of Christmas (it just so
happened to be the beginning of this). Everyday she has left a
little candy or an ornament she's made.
Now, I know Cathy (The lady) knows, but Teresa is having fun
with this and loves the secrecy of it all. Of all the people I
know, as annoying and rude as my sister can be, she has to be
the sweetest.
On Christmas she is giving her the biggest present she has
saved, none of us knows what it is, but sure enough, it's
making this lady's day. It just goes to show you what the
littlest things can do.
