This is a very hard question, because without women, men would be so lost. Women can also cause us men alot of pain, and at 41 years of age, I still cannot figure out why this is... Well, actually she must be sure about so many things...it is a very serious step in her life and very risky as well. What if this man is psychically unsteady or just a loser or simply a lier, what if he wouldn't or couldn't care her at all, what if his family and friends couldn't accept her, what if she will be used like a servant there...And so many else such "what if...?" Of course, no one could predict all the possible problems.
BUT, anyway she must check all the obtainable info about him. And one more important thing: she must be protected and have a possibility to return to her country if "something" will happen.
YES, love is the main thing to make her decision to move to a foreign country but it is NOT enough to make her feel secure. She must have full and true information. And even then no one could guarantee the things wouldn't change afterwards. It is just a luck!

What man, if he really, truly loved his fiancée, would not have anticipated her unmentionable need for verification and already have done everything he could to provide that to her in advance? Asking a girl to abandon her home country forever is much more than the average man proposes when he asks his sweetheart if she will spend the rest of her life with him. In my opinion, any guy who would insist on a total relocation of that magnitude without being prepared to voluntarily eliminate every one of his lady's doubts about who he REALLY is and what he REALLY does for a living doesn't care enough about what’s going on in her mind to be worth marrying in the first place. True love helps to overcome a multitude of obstacles, but rarely would it ever be enough to repair the damage caused by the intentional deceitfulness of either participant.

Yes, such situation can happen to everyone. That is why I said no one could predict all the possible troubles, even if everything was verified. And that is why I said that she must have a possibility to leave his country without any problem. I dont know exactly how it could be done but i think this question must be discussed beforehand. Maybe he should put a money for her as a guarantee if something will happen, in case if she hasn't enough of her own money to leave his country. I think that is a very good point, and explains why alot of guys from the US and Western Europe are attracted to women from other cultures, simply because these women allow them to be men.

I do not know all the Filipina hosts here, but I will share some general thoughts:

You said "They're all so so sweet and nice. Is this real? Or is it a way of buttering you up?" I think that in most cases it is real. I admit to being biased, but I would say that in my opinion Filipina's are some of the warmest and most loving creatures on this planet.

I am almost certain that my reply to you will be followed by a number of posts challenging that statement...I can only relate my own experiences.

Filipinas also have a great sense of humor, and will joke about just about anything. They are very family oriented, and generally very loyal. I could go on and on, but don't think that I'm trying to paint a rosy red picture of the Filipino people here. Annyone who's been to the Philippines would tell you that the poverty level there is horrible, which affects everyone living there in a variety of ways. With regards to Filipina scammers, there are many, I am sure. To answer your question specifically, none of the Filipina's I used to talk to on this site tried to scam me, but that does not mean it doesn't happen.

If you are truly a cynic, then communicating with a nice Filipina girl would probably represent some real challenges due to cultural differences. Filipinas in general will stay away from confrontative language, and will often go out of their way to please you. Sometimes that may involve them telling you what they think you want to hear. Most Filipinas would find it really hard to give a directly dismissive answer; this is considered very offensive by them. For example, if you tell a Filipina a question and she says "I'll try!" then you can be pretty certain that what you asked for ain't gonna happen! Likewise, if you ask to meet her in person and she says "I'll think about it!" then you need to understand that she really just told you "No way!" It is enough to drive a guy nuts, but once you figured it out then you realize that it is not so bad.

Some people would characterize that kind of behavior as dishonest or insincere, but I think it is a mistake to judge people without taking into account their cultural background. Imposing OUR "honest, right way of thinking" on them simply doesn't work.

I hope I gave you something to reflect over. Make up your own mind, use your head and try not to be cynical. Life is too short!
