RE: choice or crime?

Would we rather have children who are unwanted? Will they be adopted, and given good homes?

These are choices people make... unfortunate choices, in my view as a father myself... but I can't speak for them.

My brother adopted a foster child, a boy afflicted with Down's syndrome, who was being kept in a kennel with dogs by his former foster parents (they wanted the money). His real parents had drug problems and could not handle parenting. I am proud of my brother, but that is just one boy he is saving from a miserable life.

RE: choice or crime?

Unwanted children seems to be the key. There was a study done in the U.S, a few years ago. It was tracking the drop in crime rates over the past couple of decades.

What they found was that the drop in crime rates coincided with making abortion legal. The crime rate started to drop about 18 years after abortion became legal. The implication was that if the children are wanted, they will be taken care of, and will be much less likely to turn to crime.

Even more significant, abortion became legal at different times in different states, and the crime rate drop was delayed in the states where legalized abortion was delayed. The drop in the crime rate still occurred 18 years after abortion became legal in those states.

The study was quite vague, and needed follow up. Unfortunately I have not seen any of that follow up. Still, I found it to be quite interesting.

i think it is up to the individual, theres no point in having kids if they don't want them, the kids will only grow up unloved.

RE: choice or crime?

I dont have kids, I am 40 and I avoided having any kids all my life. I will definitely not even consider or contemplate having a kid. The world already have enough people as it is. It is not responsible to bring more kids to this world. We are living in an overpopulated planet with its natural resources almost depleted thanks to unconcious men and women that only behave and breed like animals. If you ask me, I will say I did not ask to be born. It's a choice I didn't make.

RE: choice or crime?

The world being over populated is a myth. Facts show that if you took every single human on the face of the earth and stood them shoulder to shoulder they would barely cover one county of a state in the USA, As for food, well not having it is a localized thing, as some places have more food than they can use and it spoils while others have none. To say we shouldnt have children because of a lack of natural resources is actually rather selfish, since we want more for ourselves.
I would love to find the right woman to marry and have a family. I adore children and just love my nephew so much. Almost every person I know who has children says they are a blessing and not a curse. Those I know who never had any and hate the thought of having children are usually the most selfish people I know.

The world doesnt need less people, it just needs less people who think only of themselves. Less people who only think of what they can get from the world and other people and more who think of what they can give to the world and other people around them.

Those who live by the motto " take care of number one" usually end up being number one, in the little world of one that is centered around them. I have been there and it is a sad and lonely place. Im just glad I dont live there any more. And maybe soon that world will expand for me with a family of my own.

RE: choice or crime?

Wake up! Our planet is not the same it used to be 200 years ago. Over population is a fact, not a myth. Most of Earth's 160,000 glaciers have been slowly shrinking and thinning for more than a century as the climate warms up from both natural causes and human activity. When the glaciers are gone, some decades from now, the water supply will be diminished. What are you thinking of? Food supply, especially water will not last forever! Geez, yours is really positive thinking, but the reality is that we shouldn't bring people that will suffer from our acts. IMHO, its selfish to bring kids that will have to deal with the disaster we had created.

RE: choice or crime?

Actually there is as much water on earth today as there was 1million years ago. Maybe more since there have probably been some small comets impact earth in that time period. Water is either in the ocean, in the air, under the ground or frozen in the ice caps and glaciers. It may move from one place to another but it is not destroyed. The water you drink today, was probably drank by a dinosaur and then by a mammoth much later and maybe even more animals or people at some time in the past.

In the past the earth has also been much hotter and much colder. Most of these changes have been caused by the changes in the output of the sun, along with the changes in the earths orbit. A few were brought on by asteroid impacts and enormous volcanic eruptions. Humans really only contribute 0.4% of the total carbon dioxide that is put into the atmosphere each year, and one volcanic eruption less can make up for that easily.

RE: choice or crime?

6.7 billion people, standing shoulder to shoulder? even if everyone of them were freakishly thin and only a foot from left shoulder to right, that would still be a line of people well over 1 million miles long, dude... exactly what county in what state is over a million miles wide?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

Actually if you estimate 7 billion people on earth, and be generous and say they are 2meters wise and 1 meter thick, ( a very large person to be certain) then they would occupy 14 billion square meters. Sounds big but that is actually only 14,000 square kilometers which is a parcel of land 120km on each side. Ok and for the non metric folks that is 75 miles on each side of the square. So I admit I underestimated a little that is maybe 3 counties here in Kentucky, if everyone on earth has something like a 56 inch waist line and they would still have room to move around a little without hitting the person next to them. Now after a little searching I found that the Land area of the earth is 148,300,000 square km. so if you take the over estimated area a person covers on the earth multiplied by the 7 billion people and get 14,000 sqhare kilometers then if all the humans on earth were standing beside each other they would cover 0.0094% of the Earth's surface. That is about the same ratio of land covered by humans as what a period at the end of a sentence covers on a newspaper, well probably less than that actually.

So its best to do a little math before exclaiming someone is nuts.

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

more pointless math fun:

ok, my statistic still standing, and considering that the earth has a circumference of roughly 25 thousand miles, then i can just as easily, frame things by saying that there are enough people on earth to line up, one shoulder to the next, to circle the planet more than 50 times. whoa! golly, can you believe that?!

i'm sorry, but your thinking is faulty.

no matter how closely you can imagine crowding together all of mankind that doesn't really say anything about the earth's carrying capacity.
tell me, how much of that total land area of the earth is realistically habitable by humans, and how much land is actually available and suitable for producing enough food to comfortably support human life? and of all the water you point out that is available to us, how much is actually readily drinkable? and what resources are required to convert that water that isn't?
and what about the land and resources needed for food and water, but for medicine, sanitation, recreation, etc?
please, take your life in kentucky as a baseline, how much of the earth's resources does it take to sustain a single human life of the quality you perceive as bearable? do you really think that such a life is realistically sustainable for the 6.7 billion people on earth now?

and during those cycles of warming and cooling of the earth you spoke of, how often and to what consequence have those climatic changes actually affected human life?

i agree with you in sense that im against that kind of thinking; we are talking today as people didnt had children in much worst circumstances then we are and they grow up in fine people; on other hand, having children always ask for some sacrifice - finantial or what ever, but what we gain from experience of having children not many people take in consideration and not many parents even notice and enjoy; im not a parent myself and i cant say what others should do - ive been around few children growing up, trying to help and enjoy reliving my own childhood, and i can say it is wonderfull no matter of "can i affored it" - kids are unbeliveble teachers to us "adults"; it seems to me that we tent to "play god" in that way

RE: choice or crime?

It is obviously a personal choice, but one that can't be considered lightly... either to have a child, or to forgo parenthood altogether. You should be prepared to live with the consequences of your choices.

A child deserves support, and love, and security, unconditionally, and too many parents, especially young ones, are not prepared to give that. That is irresponsible in my view.

On the other hand, when you give of yourself as a parent, you are rewarded many times over by the experience... it changes how you view life, your tolerance of and patience with people, your acceptance of long-term goals over short-term gains, your sense of compassion, your humility, your maturity. I would not give up the experience of fatherhood for anything. That was my personal choice.

I find it revealing that everyone who has responded so far to Olympia's original post has chosen to focus only on the individual's rights and choices and not on the larger, long-term threat to her country's (Russia, in her case) well-being from a rapidly declining population. The strategic truth is that Russia, with the largest land area of any country, has fewer and fewer people every year and is surrounded on many sides by country's (China, for example) with rapidly growing populations. Former President Putin perceived the strategic threat in this situation when he offered money to women to have additional children a few years ago. Apparently (from Olympia's post) his offer hasn't worked. The easy solution - offer free citizenship and free sessions to all CC users who enjoy chatting with all the lovely devocheki here! That will solve the demographic crisis!

Hah! as if Russia doesn't already have enough single mothers.

No disrespect towards single mothers intended, in the least. I know many of them, in Russia and in USA.

I realize this is tongue-in-cheek, but it's not just sheer numbers that make a country's population strong.

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

nope, having more people than another people is precisely what makes a population strong.

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

Oh? poor countries, with stalling economies, overtaxed natural resources, corrupt governments... how does adding more people make these countries strong?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

how does it not? people in numbers represent basic power.. the greater their number, the greater the power a population collectively wields... the more economic import it has world-wide, the more people it has to fight for those natural resources.

RE: choice or crime?

I cannot help but think that in a couple of generations time we will be wondering what we were thinking of when we tried to be so altruistic with the idea of population growth.

It has been shockingly been documented that over the last century there has been a declining number of men with nominal sperm counts and that the rise in hermaphrodite births has been increasing. It is suspected that modern living , pesticides, fertilizers, medicines, plastics even radio waves may be linked to this trend, though the jury is still out on that. However it does seem to be a trend that keeps on going.

So though I can see the moral aspects of choosing or not choosing to have children might be a dilemma for some, I do wonder at what point this will be a fond memory over the reality that procreation may not be a choice in the 22nd century.

Oh and another fact that may on the face of it seem great there are more girls being born than boys. Couple that together with less 'viable' men and you have to wonder what the future holds for us.

Sorry to be a sombre note in. Just one of those things that I think about from time to time.

It's no wonder, we kill nature day by day, that's what we get on return. We forgot we are part of that nature we destroy for a comfort life and we are killing ourselves as well. Babies with birth defects is increasing in great numbers too... We are not in the 50's or 60's anymore. We are living a the future ourselves created.

RE: choice or crime?

I totally agree with you.

For Russia it's incredibly important now to increase the number of population and actually we have all the resources to let us increase it. Alas, our modern official politics with its pseudo-care unfortunately leaves no chance for that. We still keep having lost people over born ones.

Also... Russia mostly always was and is the Christian country which implies that we should be letting God rule our lives, as well as how many children should be born. Traditionally it was like that until the human beings assumed they can decide everything and ignore God's Law... Keeping traditions though is what certainly makes a country quite successful, powerful and stable.
That could be said about any country. The higher level of moral values the majority of nation is having the stronger and longer living that nation is.

Generally, the more people are atheistic therefore the more they are egoistic...and an atheism only grows nowadays...Lot of people no longer take God and Faith seriously. This is why they think that:

Murdering unborn babies (abortion) is ok and is solving all their problems.

Murdering the first unborn baby buys the right for the second one to be born.

Sterilization would make their "making love" easier.

And on top is this nonsense:

Personally having no kids would help the overpopulated planet.

Haha...what a "great concern" about the world and what a stupid sacrifice if someone thinks that THIS would save the world!)

But such concern is nothing else but trying to veil own egoism and lack of love, because all children must be loved implicitly.

I wish people won't be naive and won't think that having no kids is always their own choice. Unless someone is unable, it is definitely the flood of propaganda to make us completely selfish...plus, the execution in so many ways of well-known plan for declining the population on earth. We should think deeper WHO is so interested to
make us such a choice. Our so called "freedom" is actually pretty limited. People think they choose but in fact they just follow common patterns. Thus, either choice we make, first lets check it properly each time before we think it is our own decision.

I'm an atheist and I assure you my morals are just as high, if not higher, than most religious people.

There is more I would have liked to have said but I'll leave it at that.

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

Having as many kids as we could or "God" wishes is not going to solve any problem either. Many facts are involve, financial status being the biggest, people are more concious that kids need food, clothes, and education. Many of us grew up with limitations that made us suffer and feel the pain of frustration at a young age and we dont want that for our kids. Others feel their relationships are not matured enough to face "responsibilities" a kid implies. How many of us grew with parents fighting all the time? Do we want to repeat the story? Some of us decided to wait until we are fully prepared, others just gave up their dreams to be parents due to jobs that dont pay well enough to raise a family. Shall you have the maturity and resources ($$$) to feed your family and a great plan for their future, then a kid or 2 is not a problem. Go ahead have as many kids as your God wishes, but don't just throw your misconceptions of others' decisions.

It was in the news today that United Nations estimates nearly a billion people in this world live day-to-day getting the bare amount of food necessary just to survive. With an increase in the population and an even greater strain on food production, how do you propose we feed everyone? Being Christian, I'm sure you're not so callous as to just let people starve to death, right?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

it was also stated in the same report, that there is more than enough food stock, even in this economically depressed time,to feed the whole of mankind.self-interest,apathy,greed prevent it,i guess.when people lose compassion for people do we deserve to be called mankind? :--)

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

Yes, right!
And the rates of those who are hungriest are highest in the developing world where the birth rates are highest too.
I just don't understand how someond can call him/herself a Christian and laugh at and call egoists those who have the whole of mankind in their thoughts rather than just the fate of those who they just happen to share a country culture with.
Really, would Jesus approve?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

As Christian I am telling you that some people are starving to death because some others are too greedy and feel they don't have cut their luxury. The key definitely is not in the decreasing amount of population but in cutting greediness in some people. Until 90% of the world's wealth belongs to just 10% of the mankind we cannot feed everyone for sure. But they are not going at least to change their lifestyle or to give away their excess to the poorest ones, right? Also, some societies don't want to slow down their consumer itch and are not going to cut their over needs (which are not needs actually but the wrong idea that they are the elite of the world, and can use much more of resources than the rest of the world) we cannot have fair system where everyone can survive. And don't tell me such a system is impossible at all. Practically it is not "never-never" thing...but what is impossible is to change the mind of those who think they are somehow special ones and others are just slaves.

Wealth itself cannot make anyone better as well as it cannot make anyone better parent. Too many of monsters among the rich ones. To be good parent you don't need to be a millionaire. But what you definitely need is a rich soul full of love and your heart on the right place. After WWII most of people in Russia were poor but that didn't stop them having kids and giving them a chance to live and to build their own decent life. Let me remind that God created all people as equal beings and gives to everyone all the necessary to survive. Alike the sun is shining and warming for everyone. And no need to blame God for what people are choosing according to their spoilt nature. We were given the free will and this is what differs us from the animals. But this doesn't mean people are free to hurt each other in this or that way.

So, the question will be not solved until some part of the humanity realise they cannot take all their money with them after their physical death. There are only two ideas in the world: you believe that your soul is living endlessly and there is a life after death OR you believe that you were the monkey before you have transformed into the human being and you will just die some day and disappear forever like a dust. Everyone behaves according to one of these beliefs.

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

So all that is needed to feed the hungry is first a fair and equitable global redistribution of all wealth?
I'm not going to say that that's an impossibility, but let's just suppose that that might take a little while to accomplish. What of the world's poor and undernourished is to be done until then?

And I'm curious, What if Russians began adopting babies from a country with a population growing too large? Your neighbor China, for instance. Would it matter at all to those concerned about Russia's shrinking population if a larger and larger percentage of future generations were not ethnic Russians, but Chinese instead?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

The planet Earth still is having enough of resources to provide an average level of life for everyone and will have...but IF to change the whole system. Don't you see that the system we have now IS totally crazy and totally wrong if there are someone who seriously thinking about extermination of the largest part of the mankind or stopping childbirth JUST because they need food and stuff? And then the next question, who is going to decide who deserves to live? Isn't it a proof that this system is absolutely insane? And how anyone can even think that this idea can save the world?

So... YES, redistribution of all world's wealth and making it work for the best future is the only way to save this world if we really are going to save it. But then those who rule the world should be totally honest, almost saint. Which I doubt would ever happen without having God in every heart.

As for the adopting Chinese children...I have an answer but I think your question is too provocative itself and I will not reply.

I don't think anyone is really arguing that the world is perfect. Indeed, can't you imagine that a similar kind of craziness that you yourself speak of might actually affect the decision of others not to have children? Is it really selfish to choose not to have a child when you imagine that the future of the world will likely be even crazier?

Your hope for humanity to one day be able to look past self-interest and greed and start living with concern not for only ourselves, our families, our friends, or our country, but for all of mankind is very nice, I wish it could come true, but I'm sad to say that I tend to look at things a bit more pessimistically. It seems to me that human nature, no matter how initially well-intended, turns to acts of self-preservation at the expense of others when times get difficult. Sarcity of resources, whether brought about by selfish acumulation or by an actual limit on finite materials, will always be reason for craziness. It seems to me it will alwasy be reason for choosing who deserves to live and who's seen as expendable.

RE: choice or crime?

isn't it like that already? look at how many people have all the money in the world and look at how many people are living in poverty, no housing, and no food to eat tomorrow... there are the ones with ideals, the ones that help others, but not enough to balance an equal balance of life and the ones that think that everything is alright, they must be blind not to see what's going on...

So what? Lets just watch what is going in the world and wait for the end? Lets not think, not talk, not fight back, not act, not giving birth and so on? Well, but that is exactly what those who lead this world to the end expect we would do!

Anyway...back to the topic...My last word is:
Basically, not having children doesn't make this world any better and less crazy. Either we have kids or not, we people must be cautious about who "makes the weather" in the world now...in other words, who stands behind any "trend", any "fashion" or any "project" and what are their real goals. We really must have our eyes and ears open these days.

RE: choice or crime?

So what if your particular remedy for the world's ills is something that isn't agreeable to everyone? Do you really think it's realistic that everyone on the planet, of their own free will, can all come to together and agree on one single way to live their lives? To me, that seems very unlikely.
And it's one thing to decide not to have a child because you're afraid of the future that that child might face, but it's another thing entirely not to care about the people who are already here. For you to suggest that someone who chooses to be childless is necessarily apathetic or selfish is just not logically true. You don't fault Mother Teresa for not having had children, do you?

I appreciate your faith and the tenacity with which you seem determined to cling to your beliefs, I do. I can even appreciate your desire to have everyone believe just as you do too. I have to say though, if it really is your aim to sway the minds of others to your way of thinking, you might want to try to be more tactful and more patient and more forgiving of the reservations others might have at first in sacrificing their own world view before giving themselves completely to yours.

God bless.

RE: choice or crime?

Oh sure, who am I to change the world or someone's mind...but you know what? At least I am not keeping silense about what I see is happening and is going to happen very soon, unlike many of others do prefer. And such a point of view is not my own only. Many other, far more intellectual and informed people think and say the same too...I don't force anyone to think exactly like me, I just say out what is known already long ago. All this everyone can find in Bible and in other even not religious sources if I am personally not that authoritative for anyone. And no need to try to make shame of me or call me tactless/impatient just because you think differently. As you can notice, I am not blaming you or anyone personally, am I?

To me it seems strange that you try to find what else to criticize me for, while the true is that we all, I mean ALL of us, are in the same boat...and doesn't matter what we argue here about when we all are in danger. The more we all together realise the fact of danger the better our chances to escape the catastrophe.

Olympiya's original subject was certainly the cause for me to discuss the whole problem much wider...why not?

Reply

RE: choice or crime?

Yes, you're certainly not keeping silent. But try your best to free yourself from the trappings of your own ego and from this defensiveness that you seem to be feeling and read again your first message to this thread. Let compassion be your guide and ask yourself what might be the consequence of the general tenor of that first message of yours on those who are not already of the same mind as you. Can you not see that it might very well cause the same kind of defensive and lead people to be much less responsive to what you think and what you believe? The further you go along in life, keep both your eyes and ears open to how people repsond to being mocked, to being called uncaring, to being laughed at, and to having their own beliefs be called nonsense. If you want your beliefs to be everyone's, how is such a way of dealing with people an effective means to that end?

And if God and the Bible are truly your touchstones in life, why would you appeal to others to look toward "intellectual and informed" people? Do you? Is God's word alone not good enough for you? I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that religion itself is something that the powerful and the wealthy have been known to demagogue and abuse in the aim of their own interests. To ask people to bow to the opinions of the informed and the intellectual, you might as well ask them to believe in global warming and the threat of overpopulation that the consensus of the scientific community say are very real dangers.

What seems both strange and regretful to me is that someone who seems so proudly to represent herself as Christian seems unaware of the hypocracy of the selfish nature invloved in chiding and judging others for anything, let alone judinge them for being egoistic themselves.

And yes, Olympiya's original message broached a subject you felt compelled to speak up on. Good for you. Don't you just wish though that you could have done so in a way that wouldn't have lead to where we are now? As much as I might agree with you on the sadness concerning the original subject, I have to say that I'm also now feeling a little sad to think that for me, as for you it seems, to let God into my heart, it would mean cultivating a sense of paranoia and mistrust towards anyone who hasn't. Or is it a part of your beliefs that those who do not already believe as you don't deserve any respect at all?

Again, I respect your decision to broaden the discussion, and truth be known, I'm actually kind of rooting for you to sway my opinion so that I might give up on the doom-sayers among mere men and give myself to and trust completely in God's will and His plan for everyone and everything. I'm actually envious of the kind of peace of mind that those who do actually say that they feel.

RE: choice or crime? ~ Curious

I don't think it is a prerequisite that you have to believe in god, religion, aliens or anything else to see the difference between right and wrong. If you see a child in front of you who is starving while you have plenty do you need a god to make you feel less than human for not caring? The bottom line is we are all human and part of being human means we have a choice over our natures unlike wild animals. We can choose to believe in god. We can choose to believe there is no god. We can choose to believe we live in a bigger world that what is just outside our front door or we can live in our own fantasy world where none of our actions or our inaction affects anyone but ourselves.

I don't think Laughing Girl needs to convince you of anything. You already know the difference between right and wrong because you already have identified it as an injustice and something wrong with the world. The only thing you need to be convinced of is that you as a human among billions of other humans can make a difference if you really tried.

I have always found it fascinating when I look at the biographies of people who have 'changed' the world, be it Abe Lincoln, Marie Curie hell even Bill Gates if you want to go so far. The most remarkable thing about these peoples lives is that that were to all intents and purposes remarkably unremarkable. The did not come for privileged backgrounds, they were not born with superpowers, they did not wake up one day at the age of 12 and say "I'm going to change the world", hell half of them would not have believed you if you told them they would be world famous. But that is the difference between dreaming your dreams and chasing them.

Yes this thread has veered off a little bit but that is the whole point of discussion forums. It is about challenging ideas , sharing thoughts , putting forward different points of view.

Given a choice between Laughing Girl's world where people are nice to each other because it is right and they believe it is gods will, than a soulless one in which people only take and never give because they don't believe in consequences, I know which I would pick.

I get the impression that religion is only flawed when people themselves are flawed. The basic tenements of wouldn't it being nice to people for a change didn't really need some poor guy being nailed to a tree to be valid. It just .

It just is.

Ahem.. of course what I >meant< to say was.

The basic tenements that the world would be a better place if people started being nice to each other for a change are true. It really didn't need some poor guy being nailed to a tree for that to be valid. It just is.

Yes, very true.
If life were only easy I don't think anyone of us would have any reason at all to treat anyone else in any other way but nicely.

RE: choice or crime? ~ Curious

Yes, from what I think I understand of what you said, I don't disagree with you at all.

About the difference between dreaming your dreams and chasing them though, do you mean to say that those who actually affect profound change seem to do so out of some basic nature within themselves that they don't even necessarily recognize? That for them, maybe even having stopped to fully contemplate their actions or how important their efforts might one day be, actually may have been a hinderance and would have lessened what it was that each ultimately accomplished? Moral being that maybe living in too many high-minded thoughts of the "what if's" concerning the fate of the entire world are maybe doomed to limit the potential that we all have for bringing about positive change simply when small opportunites presents themselves to us each day in the here and now?

Given the same choice between Laughing Girl's world view or that of a completely soulless one I would no doubt choose the same as you. For however much a pessimist I may be though, I don't see people generally as being soulless and purely selfish. A world in which each and everyone of us were that way seems just as unlikely to me as Laughing Girl's. That choice between the two seems one that would never really present itself.
I think you're very right in pointing out that we perceive the condition of the world based only on our own perspectives. And moerso, I think that maybe we even necessarily subconsciously limit the scope of our persepctives to those areas wherein we actually feel we matter, wherein we feel we can contribute some good. I mean, to stop and think about all the suffering happening the world over at this very moment and then to realize what little each of us individually can do to stop it, that's not a very pleasant thing to do. And to be constantly mindful of that? That can't be emotionally healthy, can it? If you think about things that way, I guess it kind of seems understandable that more people aren't more concerned and willing to do more for the suffering of those so far from them.

Eh, Whatever your beliefs, it just seems to me that if someone exhibits any kind dispair at the state of the world, that it would be better to try your best to feel compassion for that person, to understand what you can of the perspective they are coming from, relate to them the best you can from their perspective, and then kindly present that person whatever reason for hope you might be able to offer. To do that rather than mock or scold or alientate in any way just seems ultimately the better way to deal with people. And for a Christian, a person whose religion is built on the tenets of compassion and love and forgiveness, that seems the only way to deal with people.

Wanker

I have long time pondered about this word "wanker". Being a long timer on CC i have heard this word used quite a lot and i also understand the meaning of which it is used in here.

But i have a plan, why not let HotForWords try to elaborate on this word - see what she may come up with.

So pls, a little support and we may get some focus from one of the greatest hotties out there...

I find you very beautiful. Even when you think that you are "unsexy". You have a smile that can light up a room and its really adorable when you smile big and wrinkle your nose. You are very beautiful and never think that you aren't!

Reply

RE: Beautiful

In the first round, I was one who mentioned a beautiful girl about whom I added I was not sure you all find her sexy, because in my opinion beauty has an absolute value, it is a view from an aesthetic point of view, it can have even some absolute criteria (proportions, shapes, etc.)
I think being sexy is something more personal: for instance, somebody will find a girl with big breast and proeminent booty quite sexy while others will be aroused by a tiny slim girl with perky A cup tits. In this area, nature must be such that each girl looks sexy for some guys, and others for other guys. I don't think there is any suggestion one can make, unless "target" guys are well defined. Last example: a "mistress" in dungeon will appeal to would be "slaves", and she should appear as such, not as a sweet romantic girl!

Reply

RE: Beautiful

We are in a very intangible territory, what makes one sexy. I think to some extent it is experience itself which provides the clue. An attractive, but young, woman gives one a wink and it is just that: a wink from an attractive woman. A wink from a mature woman has an entirely different aura of sexuality about it. A younger woman pulling on her stockings knows instinctively (or theoretically) that it will no doubt be arousing to an observer. The more experienced woman knows at first hand (practically) the emotions she arouses: and this again instils her with a sexiness. The confidence and self-assuredness that comes with experience again enhances the sexiness: becoming familiar with one's effect on others, and exploiting it for mutual enjoyment. Is the patina which gives a sculpture beauty. Hope some of this makes sense, addressing the indefinable is never going to be very scientific.

Dating implies interest in a relationship, whether it be sexual, platonic or otherwise. Assuming your relationship with this person has been monogamous or agreeable permissive to this point, it would seem she has decided to move on in her life. Telling you , rather than simply abandoning you, may be an act of kindness or a ploy. It's never easy to know which. Ahh, but it really does not matter as it does appear your relationship with her has run it's course. While several scenarios may be in play here , none would seem to point toward the two of you being together much longer. Good luck and best wishes.

It seems the question was whether or not we have a secret about someone here, rather than a secret in general. With that in mind I will tell you, without mentioning names, three. One is a host I know who is actually from a wealthy family and professes to be much younger than she is. Another is about a host who is married to two people on different continents with neither of her husbands knowing of the other. Lastly, there is a host who was born male, but is now completely female. And I will never tell their names..

During a good manners and etiquette class, the teacher says to her students: "If you were courting a well educated young girl from a prominent family and during a dinner for two you needed to go to the Men's Room, what would you say to her?"
Mike replies:"Wait a minute. I'm going for a piss."
The teacher says: "That would be very rude and improper on your part."
Johnny replied: "I'm sorry I need to go to the toilet. I'll be back in a minute."
The teacher says: "That's much better but to mention the word 'toilet' during a meal, is unpleasant."
And Charlie says: "My dear, please excuse me for a moment. I have to go shake hands with a personal friend, whom, I hope, to be able to introduce to you after dinner."
The teacher passed out.

RE: how much is cc relations???...

I am sorry you trusted the wrong person. He who really loves a woman doesn't ask her to do what he asked you to do. He was selfish and took advantage of your feelings for him. I had a gf here, but it was the opposite of your case. I always paid all of our video sessions, but she would send her ym cam to other guys she calls "friends" and she continue to do it. She is always invisible sending her ym cam to the guys she likes. I never asked her for a show, paid or free, and she never did one for me. It was my decesion, but she never respected me and she never stopped flirting to other men. I am sorry to say it, but DJ only wanted "free shows" from you, and that's no gentleman. God knows how many other girls he did the same. I am glad you are over your pain. It's really hard to trust anyone here. Thing is that not only here, but there will always be the bad people taking advantage of others weakness. Keep loving, dont turn ur back on love, soon there will be someone who really values you.

A relationship that grows over the weeks and months, that blossoms into something more than just chat and cam2cam. The other messenger outlets, the phone calls and the constant texting. The making plans to meet, and, possibly stay together.
Then the deep biting uncertainty and jealousy of knowing your host is with other members, gwawing deep in your guts until the wrong words are spoken and the dream is shattered.
There, from start to end, a potted version of true events.

Reply

RE: how much is cc relations???...

Sorry if that's your experience, but if people meet in person and fall in love, and it is for real...then naturally the girl will quit working as a host. And, if the man loves her, he will have to provide some support. There are real relationships, I'm sure, but if the girl keeps working and the guy keeps visiting other hosts....it is just a farse.

Reply

RE: how much is cc relations???...

Yes, but "If a guy can't be bothered to get on a plane to see you then he isn't serious" The girl needs to make him feel special, for him to want to expend the emotional energy to get on that airplane. It's the little things she can do, surprise sms, wanting him to call etc. If not that, then no getting on an airplane!

i cam here looking for friends because i lost a huge part of my life that i can't seem to find anymore. It's lonely when you loss that one person who your heart speaks to, then one day she is gone, and gone not because she wanted to leave, gone because god felt she was to good to be here on this earth. there are a lot of girls who have made the lonelyness subside. there are the few that have offered a element of pleasure. there are a few that have offered an element of passion. then there are the special ones who offer a friendship, even though the friendship is miles and miles apart from each other. You accept what you can, offer the same in return and maybe, just maybe, the future will hold something special if the person {host} you talk to, and you, make a connection. if it is ment to be, it will happen, just don't push it....and keep reality in check.

RE: how much is cc relations???...

Twocats,
If I read your post correctly, I am sorry about your loss. And there is nothing wrong in seeking friendship, sex, companionship here. Just keep in mind that you are paying by the minute. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you are aware of that fact.

There are good people here, and people who will eat you up...sometimes slowly. So enjoy your relationships here, I think cc is a good thing...but like you said...keep it realistic.

Best of wishes,
Azterix (Stephen)

Hi Domino, yes I still have a number of good relationships from CC, 2 left some time ago but we chat all the time, one I met twice. Let down by another I thought was a true friend but I have just have to write it off to experience - win some, lose some. kisses to you

4 or 5. preferably 5.bald all the way baby!

Reply

RE: Pool on pubic hair style

I like a sexy landing strip. Triangle is good too. Bald is great too, but if you're gonna go that route, then best keep it smooth. The five o'clock shadow, or 2-3 day old stubble doesn't really go well with pussy.

Of course you know men with more body hair usually have higher levels of testosterone which leads to increases sex drive :)

strange how high levels of testosterone can cause hair to sprout from every part of the body except the top of the head.

Care to laugh...again?

A man with a winking problem is applying for a position as a sales representative for a large firm. The interviewer looks over his papers and says, "This is phenomenal. You've graduated from the best schools; your recommendations are wonderful, and your experience is unparalleled.

"Normally, we'd hire you without a second thought. However, a sales representative has a highly visible position, and we're afraid that your constant winking will scare off potential customers. I'm sorry....we can't hire you."

"But wait," he said. "If I take two aspirin, I'll stop winking!"

"Really? Great! Show me!"

So the applicant reaches into his jacket pocket and begins pulling out all sorts of condoms: red condoms, blue condoms, ribbed condoms, flavored condoms; finally, at the bottom, he finds a packet of aspirin. He tears it open, swallows the pills, and stops winking.

"Well," said the interviewer, "that's all well and good, but this is a respectable company, and we will not have our employees womanizing all over, the country!"

"Womanizing? What do you mean? I'm a happily married man!"

"Well then, how do you explain all these condoms?"

"Oh, that," he sighed. "Have you ever walked into a pharmacy, winking, and asked for aspirin?"

Agree with my friend :-)

Please don't "tar" all hosts with the same black brush... even those who are not completely truthful may have their reasons. I know that relationships happen on CC, but it takes the stars aligning in complete harmony for that to happen, and you are far better off not expecting to find that here.

What you can find are personable, warm, beautiful hosts like Avr0ra... :) (who by the way is another sexy Russian host)

RE: about a host

I had a relation similar to heartbroken. Me and this girl host chatted for almost a year. She always told me she was single, after 8 months of our relationship she promised me she never had a bf and she was happy to find me. One day I tell her I was coming to meet her in her city and she confessed she has a bf of her same age that she's dating. It was really hard for me. We sent letters, emails, talked on the phone, and she always told me I was the best, and the only one she loves. She never forced me to come to her vid. It was not a need. I know her feelings were true. But, all that time making plans and talking sweet and she was dating another guy. How can girls do that? She then promised me that if I moved permanently to her city she will break up with her city town bf. She told me he was only her boy toy. Huh? Cool, isn't it?

Well, I also experienced similar with a host. But well, that's life and life will go on. And I still think not all people are the same. If one host like to play such weird games, there is also a host who is honest.

RE: about a host

how do you think about this? a guy suggested to meet me in a certain country, I calculated all exchange rate to change the money, and searched for a nice & fitable hotel. and told all my friends & family. so I was 90 % surely to go there. And he moved to other country bcs of business, we made appointment again, I gave him my cell phon #, home #, and searched for a nice hotel again. he tells again, he's in another country in this time. once, he wanted to come in my country, I searched for all hotels, where he can sleep with good-price and comfortable and in good-place. He said and delaying..I'm not sure wether he was really 7 days later I left there. Once, I bought for him a nice perfume which is the new one, and most favoriate among guys, it was almost 100 $, he deserved. bcs he payed a lot, and I bought it really with my pleasure, and I went to buy it for taking 30 min bus to another city. and it was good packing with ribbon, for present. now he's saying he's other country, and he will make arrange for other meeting with me. what will you expect in this case? will you follow him? or now stop it? he's lots of payment guest :)>:)

I had more then 1 year with him. then maybe he could get bring his cam slowly. but never watched how he looks like really :-P

Maybe I just have a soft spot for Russia having become quite enchanted by their poetry and literature. I hope I make my Russian friends feel special enough that they know it, but then again I hope all my friends in any country know I do not take them for granted.
