Your best chance to get a member's attention is to have a great main profile pic. That is what we usually see first. Even if we see your name in the forums, when we search for who you are, it is still our first impression after anything we've read about you. Then, depending on the member, he will either read your profile or check your archives or both. Personally, I find most profiles a waste of my time and don't usually read them too carefully, but many guys make their choices from them. I look at the main pic and then check the archives to see if I like them. I might also check the written profile but just for a few moments. Then I check the price, and if the pics look worthy of the price, I'm in video.

Profile photo is most important. Then i look at archive photos, including oldest ones. I like to see the evolution of your looks, if there ae old archive photos. Then, finally, i like to text chat a little first. If i think i will have an enjoyable time, I'm into video soon thereafter.

Glad you know ur not from me :D It's ur type I avoid, the one's with the "Wanna see me?" that follows their "Hi". Most uninteresting, and not eager to "learn" more than how many dollars/Euros/rubles/Insert ur denomination here they can suck me dry for.

A smile. If a host looks in her pics like she is here under sufferance, or not enjoying the experience (even though that may be the reality), it is not a great draw.

I love a host at CC. I've loved her since the day I met her. The first time I saw her, she made the hair stand up on the back of my neck and I couldn't breathe. She was the most beautiful thing I'd seen in my life and she's still gorgeous a few years later, even after several ups and down between us. It could be any other girl, same as it could be any other member for any other girl. Dude, this isn't the way to show her that you really love her. At least post with your real member screen name. You do not need to see her profile to email her. Click on ccMail and at the top you have button marked compose.. It will open up a blank email into which you put the hosts name as the recipient. Type your message and send. If the profile is deleted it will not allow you to send to a non-existent name.

Contest Home Page and Cover Pics
I have two problems with how CC did things:
1. If a person wasn't paying attention, he might think there were only 3 cover girls. He might not notice the arrows at the side that allowed one to scroll through the 10 cover girls. I've actuallly heard from a couple of covers that a few of their regulars didn't even know they were covers since they were not the 3 that appeared when they signed in. That might seem stupid to anyone reading this, but not every member pays attention to things like cover girls and knows that there are usually about 10. (Maybe there were 9 for the last bday contest since 9th bday... I forget.)
2. I cannot figure out how to see the full cover pic when I scroll through a cover girl gallery. I really don't understand this. You can only see the top 1/2 or bottom 1/2 as far as I can tell. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

The arrows are only on Firefox and Google Chrome. On IE the cover girl pics scroll across automatically.

First, who cares if it is at the end of the contest? It is important for CC to know that not everyone noticed all the cover girls and to consider a new layout in the future for the home page (and the cover galleries).
Second, not everyone checks their emails all the time.
Third, I use IE and the covers did not always scroll automatically, unlike say the xmas contest two years ago where they always scroll in a circle.
Fourth, depending on browsers, resolution, et cetera, I can see someone not noticing the arrows. I like bigger icons and fonts so I use 800X600 most of the time, for example.

in IE6 i could only see the first two names, not even pictures of those two. I had to use "view source" to see winner names. (not pleasant, lol)

If your display is 800 x 600 this could be the reason for you having to scroll the cover girl gallery pics.

It would be nice if the thread stayed on topic, and the topic was about being able to view the pics and the home page layout, not who was the best covergirl or the quality of the pics. Unfortunately, you chose to jump at the chance to criticize your fellow hosts, some of whom obviously worked very, very hard on the pics.
Hosts such as you need to remember that the pics are ultimately for the members. It isn't about pleasing the hosts and giving them what they want. It is about giving the members what they want. After all, members are the customers and the point of pics and contests is to draw them to the site.
Hosts need to only feel that they have a fair chance to be chosen. It isn't about what they like or don't like in terms of pics. And in terms of your criticisms, first, there were new faces, just as CC promised. In fact, there were a few hosts that I never even noticed before. Second, some of the hosts pics were creative and were not boring, and often, less is more.
Personally, I liked three hosts in particular. Obviously, I liked AxB's pics, and they don't get old to me regardless of how many times she is chosen to be a cover. The same goes for Casablancka. She is a natural exotic beauty, and I believe she was the only one to take pics outside in the snow. Finally, I liked HoneyKET. Her pics may appear to be boring to some, but she came off as a sweet innocent young woman and for her look, the pics were perfect.
All three of these hosts did an excellent job in this member's opinion and should be praised, not criticized.

With all due respect to everyone, I work very, very hard on my pictures each contest, and the pictures were taken outside in the cold and the snow. It was not some special effect with photoshop. It was -25 C and I was only outside about 2 minutes. My fotographer took many many pics very fast, and I picked the best ones:)

First, I wasn't there any more than you were so there is no way for either of us to know. She does seem to be behaving like someone that is cold so it seems like she was outside to me. Second, they look very realistic to me, be them outside for real, in front of a glass window, or with photoshop. Third, they are great pics regardless of the use of photoshop. Fourth, the main issue was originality of pics, and she is the only one with those type of pics.
There is entirely too much jealously amongst hosts and the members that support them. At least if you are going to attack someone's pics or the person herself, make sure you have the evidence to back it up, and like I said, I don't think you were there any more than I was.

I agree Casablancka's pictures are the best in my opinion,, my poor baby caught a cold next day after this outside photosession.,I pleaded with her not to do outside pics,its crazy I meant too cold. Casablankca's pictures are the most original and she is a natural beauty,,I love my Bambi. Alexa is absolutely gorgeous

I am paid about 8000 .- 9000 usd per week so it doesnt break the wallet that much. Its more a question of the annoyed feeling of unsettlement and someone holding u back. Know the feeling ?

a Valentine's Day reminder
The other day Unhappy Host asked about her BF who got upset because she works online. SugarBear gave the RIGHT answer and it was great advice for EVERYONE on Valentine's Day. So I thought I'd post a reminder. And it doesn't matter if you're a Host or Guest because it works both ways. So...imagine you're invited to a party. You put on your best suit or sexiest dress, and you're really looking forward to it because someone special to you will be there.
So you get to the party...you smile politely and mingle...but all you want is to spend time with your one special person. Suddenly you spot them across the room...but unfortunately they're talking to someone who is flirting with them BIG TIME. And this person isn't fooling around -- they're really working it. They're trying to chat up and impress your love interest, hoping to get a date or phone number or email or something. So now you feel a knot in your stomach. All because the person you want to be with is having a good time...maybe TOO good a time...and it seems like they've forgotten you or won't even make time for you.
And that's where the Movies and Real Life are different. In the movies, the guy and girl would turn their heads...romantic music would build...and across the room they'd give each other THE LOOK. Their eyes would say "Don't worry about this silly person. YOU are the one I want and need." But that's the movies. In real life, everyone in the theater would sigh and think: "I wish my life was like that. I wish I could feel that secure about love or another person." But that's the amazing thing -- it CAN be like that. It's just that we let the moment slip away. Every day, we do our jobs or daily routines...we get lost in our own little world...and then we don't realize when we're ignoring people or possibly hurting someone's feelings.
And THAT is why SugarBear was 100% right when he said to Unhappy Host: "You have to ask yourself: am I proving to him that he means MORE to me than my members?" So today -- on Valentine's Day -- do exactly that. Show someone that they mean MORE. If you're a host, are you showing a guy how special he is? Are you showing you care MORE about him (as a person) than his wallet? Are you making some time for him (because you care) versus spending all your time flirting with other guys? And if you're a guy, are you showing your GF you love her and you want to help? Are you proving you care MORE about her than anything else -- even her job if she works online? Do you believe in her, no matter what?

The openning of the Winter Olimpic Games 2010 was awsome! Impressive show, and Garou, omg, BE MY WIFE!!)) And the ceremony of the lightning of the Olimpic Flame-breathtaking)))))
Canada was always on my wish list of the countries id like to visit, hope one day ill get there:) They say to get a visa there is a pain in the ass tho)

yep agree with u one of the best openings of the olympics i have seen too....shame the first lighting of the flame inside the arena went wrong when only 3 of the ice sculptures came out and not all 4....still...nothing is ever perfect (except for me ofc) :p

It was pretty boring for me. They even had noticeable technical difficulties lighting the Cualdron. There were supposed to be 4 arms rising from the floor, 3 functioned. A disaster of a show! I hope the snow doesn't keep melting as i want to see the competitions.

Breathtaking? It was a nice opening ceremony overall, but I wouldn't call it breathtaking. Things like China's opening ceremony and MonikaBabe are breathtaking.
I would call it a nice, intimate opening ceremony which is what the organizers were going for. It was a shame that there was a problem with the lighting of the flame, but I think it still came off pretty good. I am getting a little tired of Wayne Gretsky though, lol... I think Canada needs a new face. He has spent almost as much time in the USA as Canada, but I guess there isn't anybody else of his stature.
The ceremony was perfect for the winter Olympics and for the small town feel that is Canada. And in terms of visiting Canada, I would be happy to go there with you. (We can get married so you will be an American, and there won't be a problem with your needing a visa.) It is a beautiful country with nice people. Americans like me couldn't have a better neighbor. There are few places in the world which have such a friendly relationship with the country that they share a border. I don't know if I can think of even one thing I don't like about the people or the country, except the weather, lol. And if the USA isn't going to get the gold in an event, I hope Canada does, especially in hockey because I know how important it is to them.

Lol thx for the compliment first))) And yes, Canada is cool, Russia and Canada have a lot of things in common, like mentality, weather and hockey lol) I always get along a bit too well with members from Canada on cc and ppl from Canada in real life, love them all) But no matter how much i like this country, sorry canadians, but the gold in hockey will be ours;)

You just like canadians, the ceremony was mediocre at its best. The technology was not well handled. I don't know what could they had done if it wasn't for all the lighting effects. I have seen better ceremonies with great shows. Even the tap dancing choreography was a mess. My God, intimate ceremony? at a $1.354 billion cost? I dont want to know what the cost will be when the canadians make a world wide event. LOL.

Please, dont tell me what i like okay? I do like canadians, but i also enjoyed the show. What matters for me is not how much they spent on the show, or what exactly they did, whats important is-if i like the whole picture or notand if i enjoy watching the action. I liked it. And critisizing the small details-dunno, just boring:)

i have to agree with moni on this one.no matter how much i'd love to see the US or canada win the gold in mens hockey,i think russia will win it with the amazing talent that they have this year.

I haven't followed the NHL closely this year.... But don't the Canadians have the better goaltending? If so, I'd give them the edge although seeing Malkin and Ovechkin could be interesting. (Hate Ovechkin, lol.)

I admit I wasn't expecting much from an indoor show, but as it turned out, even with the little gliches, it was impressive.
I hope you do come to Canada...as I understand it, the visa is much easier to get than it used to be. You must come to Calgary though....and we'll do lunch ;))
